S/V Rescator is now on the market! The 1987 Amel Maramu 46 was designed by Henri Amel and Jacques Carteau in France. The Amel Maramu series was built in France by Amel, from 1978 to 1989, with a total of 288 hulls crafted. Known for its robust construction and seaworthy design, the Maramu 46 is specifically engineered for long-distance cruising, offering safety, strength, and ease of handling, making it an ideal choice for both shorthanded and singlehanded adventures. Its solid build, featuring approximately 1” hull thickness and an encapsulated keel with a skeg on rudder, ensures you can confidently navigate through a variety of conditions.
This Amel Maramu is a spacious 2 cabin layout with a mostly mahogany interior with solid teak flooring throughout. There are two private staterooms each with its own head with shower; the forward stateroom has 2 single berths which can convert to a large double. The aft stateroom has a large double berth with a settee opposite, as well as a vanity/desk. The large Salon area not only has plenty of room to entertain guests but can also be used as an extra cabin for crew with the ability for both the starboard and port settees to convert into secure sea berths. The port side settee converts to a double. The L shaped galley has plenty of storage and is equipped with 2 large stainless-steel sinks, 2 burner propane stove with oven, and a refrigerator-freezer. A unique feature under the galley sink is a Haier washer/dryer combo for your convenience.
S/V Rescator is powered by a 2018 55 hp Yanmar 4JH4-TE diesel engine with only 1,000 hours on it. Her sails are in good condition, with 80% on both the mainsail and headsail. The Navigation station is located to starboard just aft of the salon area. There is plenty of space for all navigation equipment, she is equipped with: Raymarine chart plotter and Radar, 2 VHF radios (1 Standard Horizon hand held, 1 Icom VHF).
This vessel already has much of what you’d need to sail long distances. She has a 290-gallon water capacity and carries 118 gallons of fuel. S/V Rescator is equipped with solar, Victron charge controllers, a 3000-watt inverter and a TecPro battery charger. She also has a Westerbeke generator onboard for your extra energy needs as well as a Wind generator.
The current owners are selling S/V Rescator due to health issues. They have left many spare parts and some new electronics to be installed for the next fortunate sailors.
Although S/V Rescator will need a bit of TLC to get her ready to sail away, she is a sound investment that will take you anywhere your heart desires!
