The current owners have owned S/V Aquavite for 25 years and have been very happy with her, they say she is very reliable and easily sails to her numbers and points into the wind within 37’, which allows for quick comfortable passages; she sails at a good pace of 6 knots in reasonable winds and has reached up to 7.7 knots at times.
S/V Aquavite has been sailed down from Canada through the USA, Bahamas and all over the Caribbean and to Central America and finally to Guatemala. Since 2011 they have been cruising regularly in and out using the Rio Dulce as their home port.
Over the years there have been upgrades made: custom-made stainless-steel davits, stainless steel solar panel mount and custom-made stainless-steel BBQ rail mount. The anti-fouling paint and the hull paint was done 2 years ago, and the bottom has just been cleaned by a diver.
