Since acquiring S/V La Gota in November 2019, the current owners have embarked on an impressive journey. Starting from Miami in 2019, she has been sailed through the stunning landscapes of the Bahamas, ventured to Colombia, and cruised along the Central American coastline. This year from March–June she has been sailed from Guatemala-Mexico-Cuba-Bahamas-Jamaica-Honduras and is now back to Guatemala in the beautiful Rio Dulce.
The Morgan 43 CC is a comfortable layout with 2 sleeping cabins and 2 heads, making it an ideal choice for families or groups of friends seeking unforgettable sailing experiences. The beautiful teak woodwork with teak and holly floors throughout is in excellent condition. The layout includes a large aft master stateroom with a comfortable queen berth with full shower with tub and a Raritan marine toilet. The forward guest cabin has a cozy v berth with private head with a Raritan marine toilet. The U-shaped galley is equipped with double sinks, a propane GSI 2 burner stove with oven, 2 Sea Frost BD12 refrigerators and a water filtration system. The spacious salon can seat many and features a large teak table that folds on either side and a large TV for your entertainment. For your extra comfort there is a Vector VRP12K-HZ507MR air conditioning onboard as well as 10 opening ports with large hatches throughout for ample ventilation.
S/V La Gota is powered by a well maintained 50hp Perkins 4.108M diesel engine with 4100 hrs., new exhaust hoses have been recently installed. Her sails inventory consists of: a Mainsail in good condition, the Head sail is roller furling (Furling Hood Yacht Systems Sea Furl 5), the furling staysail is in good condition and there is a spare storm jib in excellent condition. There are also a stack pack and lazy jacks included. Recently there have been some important upgrades made to the rigging: 4 new shrouds and 6 new chainplates, a new main sail halyard and mast steps were installed. For navigation and safety, the S/V La Gota is equipped with: a new Garmin 942xs plus chart plotter, a Furuno 1940 radar, a Raymarine ST6001 autopilot, Danforth C562 Compass, ICOM IC M602 VHF radio and Epirb.
This vessel is set up for cruising with a Spectra Ventura 150MPC water maker to fill the 195 gallons of water tank capacity. There is a Westerbeke 4.0KW BCD 612 - 60Hz generator for your extra power needs, a Freedom 20, inverter controller Xantrex Link 2000 and 2 batteries for the house bank and 1 for the engine start. The 3 solar panels are older and may need replacing. For ground tackle, she is equipped with a Quick 1000w electric anchor windlass with control at the helm and bow. The Delta 44lb anchor has 230ft of chain, and the Bruce 44lb anchor has 25ft of chain with 100ft rope. To help get you to shore there is also a Classic West Marine dinghy with a 2.5hp Suzuki.
More recent upgrades on this vessel include: a new anchor chain motor, a second anchor chain button on the steering column, and a small separation wall in the chain locker for different anchors. The vessel was hauled out and a new cutlass bearing was installed with new shaft nuts, and the bottom was painted with new anti-fouling.
