S/V Adventure is now available for purchase! This remarkable catamaran was constructed by the renowned G. Prout & Sons. The Prout 38 is recognized for its robust construction and comfortable living space, making it suitable for family cruising and offshore adventures. S/V Adventure is a custom model, expertly crafted in Camby Island, England, and holds the distinction of being the last model produced in this series. Throughout her history, S/V Adventure has demonstrated her seaworthiness, having sailed from England across the Atlantic to the stunning waters of the Western Caribbean, Bahamas, and Florida, USA. The current owners acquired the vessel in 2011 and have since taken it on numerous journeys, cruising through the Caribbean and venturing into Central and South America from 2012 to 2018.
Onboard the S/V Adventure, you will find a spacious interior with over 6ft head room throughout that comfortably accommodates guests with three well-appointed cabins and two heads, ensuring privacy and convenience for everyone on board. She is decorated with beautiful teak and holly flooring and custom teak cabinetry throughout. The salon is designed to be open and bright, with plenty of seating to entertain guests. The large navigation station on the port side is both functional and comfortable, featuring its own pull-out seating, making it an excellent spot for planning your routes. The aft stateroom on the portside offers a queen berth and abundant storage. The two heads onboard—one located on the portside forward and the other in the starboard aft cabin—are equipped with manual Jabsco toilets and showers. The galley is to starboard and is outfitted with a propane 4 burner stove and oven, a refrigerator and freezer, and two generous double sinks, (water accessed with both a 12v and manual pump). The fresh water system, featuring a Village Marine water maker (charcoal and regular filtration), ensures you have a reliable supply of fresh water to fill the 100-gallon water tank. The forward cabin on the starboard has a cozy double berth with a large refrigeration box and additional storage. Each cabin has an opening hatch and ports throughout for excellent ventilation (ports re-bedded 6 years ago).
S/V Adventure is powered by two well maintained 1999 Volvo Penta MD2030C 30hp diesel engines with 2,500hrs. Her sails inventory consists of: a fully battened Mainsail with stack pack, a Headsail with roller furling, and an asymmetrical spinnaker all in good condition. There is no shortage of navigation equipment which includes: a Raymarine chart plotter (17.5” screen), Raymarine autopilot and wind instruments, Raytheon radar, two Standard Horizon radios with AIS and an Icom single side band.
This vessel is outfitted to go cruising with 540watts of solar, six T105 Trojan 6v batteries for the house bank, and two 12v engine start batteries. The stout set of davits will lift the 10.4’ Highfield dinghy with chaps and the 15hp Yamaha Enduro outboard. For ground tackle there is: a Lewmar electric windlass, Mantus anchor with 150ft of 5/8 inch galvanized chain, and 2 Fortress anchors. The cockpit is roomy, with cushions and is covered with a custom fiberglass top with a full enclosure to keep you sheltered from the weather.
S/V Adventure is a proven blue water catamaran and with only 9 years of active use, she has plenty of life and adventure left to offer the next lucky sailors!
