Introducing S/V Gypsy Fever! This well cared for 1974 Irwin 32.5 Center Cockpit was designed by the renowned Ted Irwin and built by Irwin Yacht & Marine Corp., once one of the largest producers of sailboats in the United States, located in St. Petersburg, Florida. The 32.5 Center Cockpit is particularly notable for its thick, solid fiberglass hull, which ensures durability, while its shoal-draft keel with a skeg-hung rudder allows for exceptional maneuverability in shallow waters. This feature makes it an excellent option for coastal gunk-holing and exploring the beautiful Caribbean waters.
S/V Gypsy Fever has a rich history, having been lived-aboard and sailed extensively throughout the coastal waters of Florida before being acquired by the current owner in 2017. After completing a series of upgrades in Florida, this vessel journeyed down the coast, navigating through Mexico, Belize, and eventually Guatemala, where it has been cherished as a live-aboard since 2018. This vessel was imported and is now registered in Guatemala.
Below deck, the interior volume and 6.2ft headroom surpass many competitors in the 32-foot class, offering a comfortable two cabin living space that is perfect for extended trips or weekend getaways. The forward cabin features a generous double berth, accompanied by a hanging locker and ample storage with large drawers. Enjoy natural light and ventilation with a large opening hatch and multiple opening ports. The head is located on the starboard and includes a manual Jabsco marine toilet with shower capability and there’s a new spare macerator pump. The large salon with plenty of seating is located across from the galley which is equipped with a 12v Isotherm fridge/freezer, a four-burner propane stove, and a versatile Dometic microwave/convection oven underneath. Located underneath the large sink there is a water filtration system as well. There is a hot water tank installed and never used. The aft cabin is accessible via a walk-through to port, it offers a cozy double berth with an extra settee across, an opening hatch, and ports for ventilation, accompanied by abundant storage options. This vessel is also equipped with two separate well-functioning marine air conditioning units, ensuring comfort on those hot summer days.
S/V Gypsy Fever is powered by a well-maintained Kubota Phasor 24hp diesel engine. The engine is run monthly and a new transmission was installed in 2019. There is also a new spare alternator. Both sails are like new: Main sail is battened and in good condition, and the Head sail was new in 2018, barely used. In 2019 new stays and rigging were installed. A new teak bow sprit was installed in 2022. For navigation she is equipped with a large Raymarine C 120 chart plotter, Raymarine Radar, Autohelm ST4000 autopilot, Ritchie compass and a Standard Horizon Matrix AIS. For your power needs this vessel has been upgraded with a new 2000-watt inverter installed 2025, and a new Victron Smart battery charger. The house bank has two new 200ah no maintenance lead acid batteries installed April 2025 and one engine start battery installed Nov. 2023. There are two 100-watt solar panels to keep the batteries charged and an older Ryobi inverter generator that is still operational for your extra power needs.
On the exterior, S/V Gypsy Fever is solid, no soft spots on the decks. The bottom was professionally sand blasted with barrier coating and anti-fouling applied. The hatches received new plexi glass with hatch solar vents. The cockpit is fully enclosed with screens to give you shelter from the weather and there is a stout set of davits to help lift a dinghy and motor.
