S/v Sirena is a 1984 Brewer Huromic 35’ steel cutter. Starting in 1977, the Huromic 35, also known as the Goderich 35, was designed by Canadian born Ted Brewer and built by Huromic Metal Ind. Ltd. S/v Sirena was built with a 3/16” steel hull in 1984 in the Brewer shipyard and is now US Coast Guard documented. This Canadian built vessel is a heavy, blue water sailboat capable of circumnavigation. The Huromic 35 is safe and stable at sea with a comfort ratio of 33.27.
The current owner, now in his 80’s, has had s/v Sirena for 20 years and has enjoyed many years of exciting sailing adventures from the Atlantic to the Caribbean. He is a professional welder so any work done on the boat has been done by him thus ensuring good quality work. S/v Sirena has been outfitted to go cruising and has had some recent maintenance done. The bottom was sand blasted then two coats of epoxy was applied. In July 2023 new paint was applied on the bottom and the hull sides and the rudder was given two new bearings.
S/v Sirena is powered by a 2005 33hp Mitsubishi SL4 Vetus with 1400 hrs. Her main sail and head sail are in nearly new condition and she is equipped with extra heavy rigging. The cutter staysail is mounted on a boom and there is ample sail to cruise at faster speeds of up to 7 knots. She is also equipped with a Monitor wind vane, Tailler auto pilot and a Furuno nav tech weather receiver. A few handy features on this vessel are the hard dodger, stainless steel rails surrounding the deck from bow to stern, and the impressive arch that holds the 350 watts of solar panels. There is more room for guests on deck with the extra seating on the aft corner rails. There are 11 opening bronze port-lights and 2 opening hatches for plenty of ventilation. The 9.6’ Caribe hard bottom dingy comes with a 6hp Nissan 4 stroke with only 20hrs on it.
On the interior s/v Sirena has 7ft head room with lots of woodwork throughout, in fair condition, and one cozy sleeping cabin in the vberth. This vessel has more storage than meets the eye with large hanging lockers, storage behind the salon settees and more. The galley has a large sink and a manual/electric water filter system. There is a large 12v refrigerator and ice box and a 3-burner propane oven. The head has a manual Jabsco and a removable shower head on the sink for showering. In the aft starboard corner across from the galley, there is a large, deep storage compartment which contains the Cen-tech 4000w power inverter, the engine fuel filters, the 2 new marine deep cycle batteries and many spare parts and tools.
With this vessel, the owner is selling many spare parts along with manual and electric tools, spare fuel filters primary and secondary, impellers, belts, life jackets and fishing gear. S/v Sirena is a proven seaworthy vessel outfitted with some good equipment, but she needs some TLC to get her in optimal condition. If you are looking for a solid offshore cruiser, then this vessel is worth a look at this price!
