S/V Gypsy Rover is now for sale. The 42 Endeavour center cockpit was designed by Johannes Valentijn and built by Endeavour Yacht Corp. (USA) in Florida. There were approximately 257 of these boats built between 1985 and 1991. These popular coastal cruisers are renowned for their spacious and comfortable liveaboard accommodations both inside and out. With a shoal draft of 5’, these vessels are ideal for exploring shallower waters and with a comfort ratio of 34.98, she performs steadier and more comfortable at sea.
The current owner bought S/V Gypsy Rover in the Rio Dulce and has enjoyed her for 11 years sailing around the Western Caribbean and anchoring for long periods. The boat is very well ventilated, ideal for the tropics and is equipped with an engine driven 25 gph water maker to keep the 100-gallon water tank full. She is also equipped with a Honda EU 2000 generator and 390 watts of solar (3x 130watt panels) with charge controller. There is some great ground tackle on this vessel: 2 good anchors: 25kg Rocna with 180ft stainless chain, and a 10kg Bruce with extra chain with a wash-down pump.
The interior is spacious with plenty of storage and head room throughout. There is plenty of ventilation throughout this vessel with a large hatch in the forward and aft cabins, and 2 large hatches in the salon and multiple opening ports throughout. The galley is located on the port-side walk-through and is equipped with 2 double sinks, a Force 10 propane stove with oven, and an extra-large Adler Barbour top-loading freezer fridge. There is a water filtration system that needs to be connected. The aft cabin has a queen berth with plenty of storage throughout, and a separate head with shower (Raritan Marine toilet has new pump). The salon is roomy with 2 settees, one is a double convertible settee to port, and a folding center table. The private forward cabin has a double vberth with head and shower (Jabsco toilet, shower needs new pump), and plenty of storage.
S/V Gypsy Rover is powered by a Yanmar 66hp 4JH-THE Turbo Intercooler diesel engine. The engine is easily accessible on this vessel via the doors on either side of the engine from the galley or aft cabin head. The sails are older but in good condition: Mainsail is partially battened, the head sail is a Genoa with roller furling, and there is a removable forestay.
