** PROJECT BOAT, GREAT INVESTMENT FOR A SKILLED BOATER TO RESTORE THIS UNIQUE, CLASSIC VESSEL **
S/v Ruthy L is up for sale! This rare 1983 Fisher 46 Motor Sailor is a stoutly-built vessel, with only 15 built starting in 1975. These vessels were built in England and designed by Wyatt and Freeman. The Fisher was designed upon the North Sea fishing vessel style hull and pilot house. It is a round bilge design with a full-length keel, protected prop and well-supported rudder. These vessels are built with thick hull and deck fiberglass layups, no coring!
The Fisher 46 is a long-range blue water motor sailor capable of taking you anywhere in the world, made to withstand the most harsh, challenging conditions at sea. With her high bow and massive bulwarks being on deck is spacious, dry and safe in many conditions. She can be steered from the outer helm located in the large cockpit, or from inside the comfortable, secure pilot house, which has excellent visibility all around.
Not only does s/v Ruthy L offer safety and stability at sea, but she also makes a roomy, comfortable liveaboard with her 15ft beam and 7ft headroom throughout. She is a three-cabin layout, with one head. The forward berth has 2 separate cabins, each with 2 single bunks and plenty of storage. The salon is a large, open layout with a decent size u shaped galley. The large aft owners’ cabin has a Pullman style berth. S/v Ruthy L is also equipped with an economical Ford Lehman 6N140.
This vessel has been sitting for several years, and the hull and deck are sound. However, she is in need of a great deal of cosmetic work inside and out. Unfortunately, the sails and running rigging are missing and it’s unknown as to what systems are functioning or not functioning.
The owner has recently passed away, and the family is looking to find a new home for her. This could be an elegant boat of substantial investment if the right skilled owner could refurbish her. She is priced to sell!
