S/v Stabo is a well maintained, turn key vessel. The 1986 Elan 31 was designed by J&J Designs and built by Elan Yachts in Slovenia. This is a popular European design, strongly built with over 1,000 produced. In the last five years this vessel has extensively cruised in the Mediterranean, Azores, Madeira, West Africa and spent last year in the Caribbean. S/v Stabo is a joy to sail and the generous sugar scoop provides additional comfort on the anchor.
This vessel has a roomy, spacious 2 sleeping cabin layout, and 6ft head room throughout. The head has a new marine electric toilet just installed this year. The galley is equipped with a Dometic stove with oven. There is also 2 - 120-watt high efficiency solar panels with a Victron Smartsolar Bluetooth MPPT controller. For your comfort there is also a/c onboard.
s/v Stabo is powered by a 2006 Volvo D1-20 diesel engine. Her sails range from good to perfect condition. The mainsail is a partial battened Supreme Hydranet, very good condition, and the headsail is a Supreme Vectran in very good condition with roller furling. The removable forestay, Solent, Hydranet, is in perfect condition. There is a Gennaker on the furler also in very good condition. This vessel comes with heavy duty ground tackle; 44lb Spade anchor with 230ft of chain, and a 30lb Bruce anchor.
Since the owners did not plan to sell the boat until very recently, they have made many recent upgrades. For instance, new teak in the cockpit was laid down in September 2024. All essential elements of the boat (standing and running rigging, genoa furler, sails, canvas, autopilots, portlights, ground tackle, electronics, electrical system, SSB radio station) were renewed after 2019. Moreover the 2006 Volvo diesel with only 220 hours and copper bottom coating could provide a lot of years trouble free operation. The owners are also leaving ample parts for the next fortunate sailors (impellers, filers, anodes, etc) to last for a few years of cruising.
S/v Stabo is ready to go now on her next adventure. This vessel would be perfect for a couple to cruise in the Caribbean!
